January 27, 2016 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven's vocal arts students and Dr. Christopher Shelt, Professor of Music, will present The Frog Prince, the sixth operatic performance for A Little Opera for Children series. Every year, A Little Opera for Children produces family-friendly performances to introduce kids to the operatic arts and nurture a love for the vocal arts.
The Frog Prince is a free performance at Belhaven's Center for the Arts Concert Hall, and it is tailored to a younger audience, as an hour-long production. Adapted from the Brothers Grimm tale, this entertaining one-act opera is full of lessons about keeping promises.
Show times include:
Friday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 6 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
This is just one of the many exciting events from Belhaven's School of the Arts. Check out our complete listing of art events in this year's Arts Ablaze publication for more plays, dance and music concerts, poetry readings and gallery exhibits.
