April 13, 2016 (Jackson, Miss.) - Musical arrangements from jazz musician Ward Swingle and Johann Sebastian Bach coalesce for the Belhaven Choral & Vocal Arts Concert: Bach & All That Jazz. This toe-tapping performance is Saturday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall.
Swingle discovered the connection that Bach's baroque musical language had many intersections with the harmonic characteristics of jazz.
Choirs and soloists from Belhaven's Concert Choir and Chorale will perform numerous jazz standards with new jazz piano adjunct faculty member, Margaret Ingram. Admission to this concert is free and the doors open at 7 pm.
