December 1, 2016 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven earned national recognition for its affordability. Christian Universities Online (CUO) ranked the University 10th for the 50 Most Affordable Christian Colleges and Universities 2017.
According to CUO, the institutions on the list proved to be affordable without sacrificing quality in their programs and resources. Belhaven was joined by other institutions such as Lee University, John Brown University, Harding University and Trevecca Nazarene University.
Belhaven's tuition costs fall into the lower range for institutions of its type and ninety-five percent of its students receive some type of financial aid in the form of grants or scholarships. High tuition cost and economic uncertainty play an important role in determining an institution to attend, said Kevin Russell, Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing. That is why it is important for universities to show students and parents that they are getting the most for their money and this award affirms the tremendous value found in a degree from Belhaven University.
This ranking is one of many for the University as others have recognized the value of a Belhaven degree. U.S. News and World Report awarded Belhaven the prestigious title of 2017 Best Value. Only 31 regional universities in the South were selected for the list, and Belhaven ranked 20 out of the top schools. For the twelfth consecutive year, Belhaven was also honored as America's 100 Best College Buys for its affordability and financial aid available to its students.
Competitive pricing and strong scholarship opportunities give students a top quality, private and Christ-centered education at public university prices, adds Russell. We strive to be exceptional stewards of our resources and seek to provide a quality education at costs that are obtainable.
