December 13, 2016 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University will honor its December graduates during commencement on Saturday, December 17, 2016. The Jackson Commencement Ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. in Thalia Mara Hall, 255 East Pascagoula Street.
Dr. Westley Busbee, professor and chair of history, humanities and political science at Belhaven University, will be the honored commencement speaker this year. He began teaching history and political science at Belhaven in 1968 and for 48 years he provided a quality education to thousands of students.
Dr. Busbee earned a B.A. in history from Rhodes College and a M.A. and Ph. D. in history at University of Alabama. He was the assistant professor of history at Georgia Southern College 1966 - 1968 and a graduate teaching assistant at University of Alabama 1962 - 1966.
