Big Fish PosterSeptember 13, 2016 (Jackson, Miss.) - The Belhaven Theatre Department is bringing the film Big Fish to the stage. The new Broadway musical will premiere in the Blackbox Theatre on September 28, 2016.

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, and featuring music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, Big Fish is overflowing with heart, humor and spectacular stagecraft. It is an extraordinary new Broadway musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre - for an experience that is richer, funnier and bigger than life itself.

“This musical is one of the great family stories to come from Broadway in the last couple of decades,” said Dr. David Sollish, chair of the theatre department and Big Fish director. “It tells the story of family strife, true love and reconciliation. Audiences, young and old, will love the larger-than-life characters, stories, and memorable show-tunes. This is a true Southern story that almost anyone can relate to.”
