Most Selective 2018 September 13, 2018 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University is Mississippi's Most Selective College according to Business Insider. The business news website researched acceptance rates for each state and released a list of the most selective colleges and universities in America. Belhaven earned its place on the national list with other prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, Yale University, Stanford University, and Georgetown University.

Belhaven's acceptance rate is one of the lowest in the state at 43%, and test scores are up significantly, highlighting the quality of students applying to the University.

Dr. Audrey Kelleher, vice president for curriculum and student care, said “Our curriculum is designed with the academic needs of our students in mind, and with enough rigor to challenge students to go beyond their best. We teach relevant, inspiring content that positions students well for future careers.”

The rankings are based on acceptance rates and SAT/ACT scores reported to the U.S. Department of Education. College acceptance rates received a weighted average of 60% in the ranking computation, and SAT/ACT scores received a weighted average of 40%.
