October 23, 2019 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven's Theatre Department will presentThe Illusion, November 7-9, 13-16 at the Blackbox Theatre. The play is a 17th century comedy from Pierre Corneille, and is directed by Belhaven's Associate Professor of Theatre Dr. Elissa Sartwell.
The Illusion is a story about a lawyer, facing mortality, desperate to find the son he drove away years before. The lawyer travels in the dead of night to a mysterious cave, and there he engages the services of a wizard. The wizard conjures up visions of the romantic, adventurous, and perilous life the lawyer's son has been living since his father expelled him from home.
