Dr. Toussaint Whetstone

9, 2019 (Jackson, Miss.) - As part of the speaker series “Mental Health and the Bible,” Belhaven's Institute for International Care and Counsel will host mental health practitioner Dr. Toussaint Whetstone. This lecture series is free and open to the public.

Dr. Whetstone is a licensed clinical psychologist and the director of the Wheaton College Counseling Center. His community-wide lecture, “Made in God's Image: Stigma, Shame and Mental Health," is Tuesday, April 16 and will be held at 7 p.m. in Irby Room 200.

He received his B.S. in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene University, his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. As a collegiate mental health clinician, Dr. Whetstone has worked in various settings including DePaul University Counseling Services (UCS) and the University of Notre Dame Counseling Center (UCC).

Because of a generous grant by the Presbyterian Church USA, Belhaven is able to bring this lecture series to campus, and University leaders plan on having additional lectures throughout the year.
