Faculty Composition Concert 2019February 18, 2019 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven's Faculty Composition Concert will feature new music from Professor of Music Dr. Andrew Sauerwein and alumnus William A. Peacock. The free performance is Friday, February 22, 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall.

The concert will include three new compositions: Sleep Songs, Pursuit, and On the Presence of Christ. Dr. Sauerwein's Sleep Songs is a set of five folksong lullabies, andhis Pursuit is a work for piano that is composed for Dr. Stephen Sachs, who will perform it.

On the Presence of Christ, a three-movement work composed by Peacock, will end the performance.He completed the piece as his master's thesis at Butler University.

Attendees will get to sit down with the composers before the concert to discuss the compositions and music. Thepre-concert talkwill occur at 6:30 p.m. in the Instrumental Rehearsal Hall.
