2023 Fall Dance Concert to Showcase Exciting New Choreography

November 7, 2023 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University's Fall Dance Concert 2023 will showcase new choreography and include works from both dance faculty and guest artists. 

This year’s guest artists will be Sarah Matzke and Kevin Jenkins.  

Matzke is a professor of dance at Texas Christian University and the Störling Conservatory, and previously The University of Texas at Dallas. As a guest artist, she has worked throughout the United States, South America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.  

Jenkins travels throughout the country choreographing for State Street Ballet, St. Louis Ballet, San Diego Dance Theater, the School of Ballet Arizona, SUNY Purchase, Island Moving Company, Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami, Ballet Hartford, and many others. He has served on faculty at Boston Ballet School, Joffrey Ballet School, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, the University of San Diego, Goucher College, and Master Ballet Academy. His choreography has been performed on the Inside/Out Series at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and he has been awarded residencies with Djerassi and the National Choreographers Initiative. 

The Fall Dance Concert 2023 will be in the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Studio Theatre and dates include: 

November 16 at 7 p.m. 
November 17 at 7 p.m. 
November 18 at 7 p.m. 

General admission is $10 and $5 for seniors and non-Belhaven University students. Admission is free for all Belhaven faculty, staff, students, and immediate family.
