Theatre Department Hosts an Exciting Medley of Broadway Hits

March 22, 2024 (Jackson, Miss.) -  Mark your calendars and prepare to be swept away by the magic of Broadway as Belhaven University's Theatre Department presents “A Night of Broadway,” April 5-6 at 7:30 p.m.

These free shows at the Blackbox Theatre promise to be a feast for the senses, featuring a selection of scenes and songs curated from recent Broadway hits. From the pulsating rhythms of "Ex-Wives" from Six to the soul-stirring melodies of "In the Heights" from In the Heights, audiences can expect an evening filled with captivating performances.

Adding to the excitement are four electrifying ensemble dance numbers, meticulously choreographed by Kellis Oldenburg and Lily McGee. Audiences will be treated to the spirited choreography of "Coffee in a Cardboard Cup" from And the World Goes 'Round, as well as the timeless charm of "Moses Supposes" from Singin' in the Rain.

Under the thematic umbrella of "Seasons: of Love," this production promises to delve into the intricate nuances of love, drawing inspiration from the timeless wisdom of Ecclesiastes 3.

Free tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at 7 p.m. This is just one of the many exciting events from Belhaven's School of Arts. Check out Arts Ablaze for plays, dance and music concerts, poetry readings, gallery exhibits and more happening this year.
