Belhaven University Helps Teachers Advance Credentials with Online Special Education Endorsement

JACKSON, Miss. (June 22, 2026) – Belhaven University’s School of Education is now offering a fully online Special Education Endorsement program designed to help licensed teachers expand their credentials and better serve students with exceptional needs.

The program provides educators with specialized training in evidence-based instructional strategies, assessment practices, and individualized support for diverse learners. Upon successful completion of the four-course program and depending on their existing licensure, candidates will be eligible to apply for Mississippi Department of Education Special Education Endorsements 221, 223, or 224.

Created with working professionals in mind, the endorsement can be completed entirely online, offering flexibility for educators seeking to advance their skills while continuing to serve in the classroom. Belhaven’s School of Education is approved by the Mississippi Board of Education and offers programs designed to support educator growth and leadership.
“Teachers are increasingly called to meet the diverse needs of every student in their classroom,” said Dr. Brittany Singleton. “This endorsement equips educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support exceptional learners while expanding their professional opportunities.”
