Belhaven University Names Dr. Ken Gerhart Assistant Professor in School of Business

JACKSON, Miss (July 28, 2026) – Belhaven University has named Dr. Ken Gerhart assistant professor in its School of Business, effective this fall.

Dr. Gerhart joins Belhaven with more than four decades of experience in investment banking, strategic consulting, executive financial leadership, and higher education. His unique blend of academic scholarship and executive expertise will strengthen the university's commitment to preparing students for ethical leadership and professional excellence in today's global marketplace.

As managing partner and founder of The Cornerstone Group, Dr. Gerhart built and led a multi-entity enterprise specializing in investment banking, financial advisory services, capital formation, and real estate. Throughout his career, he has guided organizations through complex feasibility studies, mergers and acquisitions, corporate turnarounds, and large-scale capital projects. He has also served as a fractional chief financial officer for organizations in industries ranging from intermodal transportation to emerging healthcare services.

In addition to his distinguished business career, Dr. Gerhart has taught doctoral-level courses in management, leadership in organizations, dissertation proposal, and dissertation continuation, mentoring doctoral candidates throughout the research process. He also served as an international visiting professor at Tiffin University in Bucharest, Romania, where he taught cost accounting, corporate finance, and business management.

At Belhaven, Dr. Gerhart is currently teaching a full course load in the university's Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program and participating in multiple residency sessions throughout the year. As opportunities arise, he will also chair dissertation committees, contribute to the university's emerging business journal, and support additional academic initiatives within the School of Business.

Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, Dr. Gerhart is an ordained minister, published scholar, lifetime certified racquetball instructor, and Hall of Fame collegiate football player. He enjoys leading Bible studies, participating in evangelistic outreach, hiking, playing competitive racquetball, and cooking.
