Belhaven University Appoints Dr. Trena Warren as Assistant Professor of Education and Coordinator of Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting

JACKSON, Miss. (August 5, 2026) — Belhaven University has appointed Dr. Trena Warren as assistant professor of education and coordinator of data collection, analysis, and reporting in the Graduate School of Education. A Belhaven alumna, Dr. Warren brings more than 30 years of experience in K–12 education and a passion for preparing educational leaders who serve with excellence, integrity, and compassion.

In her new role, Dr. Warren will support graduate education programs through teaching, assessment, and data-informed program improvement while helping prepare current and future educators to lead schools and communities with confidence.

Throughout her career, Dr. Warren has developed expertise in educational leadership, strategic planning, federal programs compliance, curriculum and instruction, professional development, and student support systems. She is dedicated to helping aspiring and practicing educators connect educational theory with practical application, equipping them to strengthen schools, serve families, and improve student outcomes.

Prior to joining Belhaven, Dr. Warren served in a variety of educational leadership roles, including elementary school teacher, interventionist, principal, literacy coach, curriculum supervisor, federal programs director, deputy superintendent, and adjunct professor. Most recently, she led districtwide initiatives focused on school improvement, instructional leadership, principal and teacher development, and organizational systems designed to help both students and schools thrive.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Warren enjoys serving her community and exploring creative design projects. She is committed to living out her faith and enjoys singing in her church choir.
