Belhaven University Announces Second Annual Tartan Tuesday Giving Day Celebration

Jackson, Miss. (September 15, 2026) — Belhaven University is excited to announce its Second Annual Tartan Tuesday Giving Day, a weeklong celebration of generosity, community, and the transformational impact of a Christ-centered education. This year’s event will take place October 19-25, 2026, with Tartan Tuesday officially celebrated on October 20 as part of Belhaven’s Homecoming & Family Weekend festivities.

Following the tremendous success of the inaugural Giving Day in 2025, Belhaven is setting an ambitious goal for 2026: 300 donors united in support of students and the future of the University.

Last year, the Belhaven community responded with incredible generosity, bringing together 179 donors who contributed $157,262 to support the University’s mission and provide greater opportunities for students. This year’s Tartan Tuesday builds on that momentum, inviting alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and supporters to come together once again to make a lasting difference.

“Tartan Tuesday is a powerful reminder that every member of the Belhaven family has a role in advancing our mission,” said Jeff Rickels, Vice President for Advancement. “When our community comes together, gifts of every size create opportunities for students to pursue their calling, grow in their faith, and prepare to impact the world for Christ.”

The 2026–2027 academic year begins with exciting momentum across campus. Over the past year, Belhaven students have achieved significant accomplishments, including continued excellence in academics, athletics, the arts, and service. The University celebrated record-setting achievements among student-athletes, expanded opportunities for hands-on learning, and continued investing in programs and facilities designed to prepare students for lives of purpose and leadership.

Gifts made during Tartan Tuesday directly support Belhaven’s commitment to student success by providing resources for scholarships, academic programs, campus initiatives, and areas of greatest need. Early gifts are especially impactful because they build excitement, encourage participation, and demonstrate the strength of the Belhaven community leading into Homecoming & Family Weekend.

“Whether you give $25, $250, or more, your participation matters,” said Rickels. “Giving Day is about more than a financial contribution, it is about showing our students that the Belhaven family believes in them and is invested in their future.”

The celebration begins with early giving on October 19, continues through Tartan Tuesday on October 20, and concludes on October 25. Members of the Belhaven community are encouraged to make a gift, share the event with others, and help reach the goal of 300 donors.
