In the School of Education, students prepare for the responsibilities of teaching through coursework, field experience and guidance from faculty. “A teacher’s influence reaches far beyond a single lesson,” said Dr. Clay Norton, dean of faculty for the School of Education. “We want our graduates to enter classrooms ready to teach well, care for their students and keep growing throughout their careers.”
Belhaven’s School of Nursing combines clinical preparation with an emphasis on compassionate care. “Nursing calls for both sound clinical judgment and a deep concern for the person receiving care,” said Dr. Tangie Hales, dean of the School of Nursing. “Our faculty invest in students as future nurses and as people, helping them develop the skills, confidence and compassion to serve patients and families.”
