Mississippi Guitar Festival
The Mississippi Guitar Festival will be held on February 9 and 10 at Belhaven University. The Festival is the state’s only collegiate conference on the classical guitar. Each year, the festival offers a diverse number of masterclasses, lectures, competitions, and concerts, in hopes that it enriches the interests and development of guitar professionals, students, and enthusiasts. The lectures and masterclasses are held by the state’s leading guitar teachers. The competitions are open to all pre-college, beginner, and college-level students. Our lecturer this year is John Paul from Jackson, MS, who will be demonstrating some of Bach's lute works on the Lautenwerck. This year’s guest will be the prize-winning, internationally-acclaimed performing artist from Mexico, Pablo Garibay. You can learn more about Pablo Garibay from his website www.pablogaribay.com.
