March 7, 2008 (Jackson, Miss.) – Belhaven College Choirs, along with student and faculty soloists, present Haydn’s famous wartime choral work, Missa in Angustiis (The Lord Nelson Mass), in conjunction with The American Guild of Organists (AGO).

Conductor, Dr. Christopher Shelt, a Belhaven faculty member since 1999, performed this work in 2002 with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, and was featured on the MPB broadcast, “Mississippi Concert Hall.”

The concert features a 60 voice choir, including Belhaven faculty members Gena Everitt and Aaron Odum, and highlights the talents of former Mississippi College professor and guest organist, Jeff McLelland. Carol Durham, Belhaven faculty organist, will perform with the group for Saturday’s show at the Center for the Arts.

There are two chances to catch these spectacular musicians in action, Friday, March 7, at Northminster Baptist Church , and Saturday, March 8, at the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on Riverside Drive. Both performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and admission is complimentary.
