“Back to Belhaven '08” was a weekend full of award ceremonies, athletic events, special performances, and most importantly-joyful reunions. The Class of 1958 held a 50-year reunion at the Bettye Quinn Alumni House, of which Ms. Bettye Quinn herself is a member. The Belhaven Arts showcased their talent with Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing and Handel's Messiah, while the Blazers football team fought hard and lost by a narrow margin of 3 points to the Cumberland Bulldogs.

On Friday evening, the seven inductees into the Belhaven Sports Hall of Fame, along with their families and friends, were honored with a banquet in the dining commons. A Saturday luncheon honored the Belhaven Alumni Awards recipients, which included the Alumnus of the Year, Mr. J. Joseph Stroble, class of '70. Plans are underway to make next year's “Back to Belhaven” an even greater reunion between old friends, professors, and teammates, so plan to come “Back to Belhaven” in 2009!
