November 3, 2011 (Jackson) - This year's Back to Belhaven Homecoming Weekend was an exciting time for Belhaven alumni, parents, and students to enjoy the many exciting events all packed into a fun-filled weekend at Belhaven.

The Class of '61 enjoyed a reunion and celebrated their induction into the Fifty Year Club, while the Parent and Student Ice Cream Social was a delicious success. Belhaven families got a chance to mingle and meet others and play games like Family Feud, while filling up on some delicious desserts.

Runners and walkers from all around the Jackson area as well as alumni and families came to the Belhaven walking trail for the 7th Annual Homecoming 5k Run/Walk. Freshman, Tianna Rogers and younger brother, Josiah Rogers won the race having the best times.

Parents of current students had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Dr. Parrott for the President's Breakfast, as well as ask questions about the university.

The family cookout took place in the Soccer Bowl and was a time of great food, fellowship, and fun for the whole family. All the kids enjoyed bouncing and climbing on three different inflatable forts.

Belhaven's Alumni Awards Luncheon honored the 2011 award recipients for their accomplishments. Inductees into the Fifty Year Club and the Legacy of Learning were also recognized during the ceremony.

Alumni,students, and friends cheered on our football team during the 2011 Homecoming game. With fans on their feet, The Blazers took the field and faced off against Union College claiming the win, 20-14. During halftime, the student elected Homecoming court was presented. Seniors Ricky Howard and Rachel Kurtz were crowned Belhaven's 2011 Homecoming King and Queen.

2011 Homecoming was a fun and inspiring weekend for Belhaven families to reconnect and remember. Next year plans to better than the last.
