July 13, 2016 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University's Welcome Week will begin on Saturday, August 20 and new freshmen and transfers will be on campus to start an exciting year. Students will have a busy week of moving-in and getting settled into college life, and the Welcome Week schedule gives a day-by-day look at what is happening during the week.
Events such as recreation day, campus-wide cookout, starlight cinema, skate night, luau and progressive open halls are just some of the many activities happening on campus.
Academic advising and other informative sessions will prepare students for their upcoming semester of study. This week is also a good time for students to meet with and get to know professors and staff.
The Welcome Week Guide, provided at check-in on Saturday, will give incoming students additional information about events and resources. They can turn in all necessary forms and paperwork while getting a mailbox key, ID card and car decal. Also, be on the lookout for Move-In Day volunteers who will be helping students move and settle into their dorms.
Parents will receive their own packets at check-in that will include an agenda and guide to Belhaven. Welcome Week for parents will also give them the opportunities to meet faculty and staff, look into college life and find out what is happening at Belhaven this year.
