Welcome Week 2023 to Launch New Semester at Belhaven University

July 6, 2023 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven's Welcome Week 2023 is August 17-26. A week of exciting events will mark the beginning of the semester for new and returning students. The 2023 Welcome Week Schedule provides students and parents a comprehensive list of everything happening on and off campus.

“Welcome Week is always an exciting time, full of fun and informational events,” said Vice President for Student Development Dr. Shelley Smith. “We have many activities scheduled to assist students in connecting with the Belhaven family and introduce them to opportunities that will help shape their student life experience. Welcome Week will serve students by jumpstarting their path to make Belhaven University and the greater Belhaven community their home!”

Welcome Week 2023 will introduce events, such as Belhaven Trivia Night and a Residence Hall Crawl, and include some of the University's most loved traditions like the annual Blazer Beach Bash.

Smith adds, “Over 25 events will be provided for both new and returning students with countless opportunities to enjoy free food and snacks, win prizes, get to know Belhaven faculty and staff, and meet new friends.”

Campus and community connections, Kickin' It with Campus Rec, Discover Jackson Tours, Majors Meet and Greet, Movie Night, Welcome Back BBQ, Belhaven Block Party, Welcome Back Coffee and Tea, Blazer Community Connect, and Orientation are just some of  the events and activities students can expect during this busy week.

Academic advising, faculty panels, and other informative sessions will prepare students for their upcoming semester of study. This week is also a good time for students to meet with professors and staff. They can turn in all necessary forms and paperwork while getting their mailbox key, ID card, and car decal.
