Belhaven University Launches Online Bachelor of Science in Sport Management

JACKSON, Miss. (June 22, 2026) – Belhaven University is expanding its online academic offerings with the launch of a new Bachelor of Science in Sport Management designed to prepare students for leadership roles in athletics, coaching, and the business side of sports.

Offered through the School of Business, the fully online program allows students to tailor their education through two concentrations: Athletic Administration or Coaching. The Athletic Administration concentration equips students with skills in leadership, marketing, event management, and sport operations, while the Coaching concentration provides a pathway for students wanting to pursue a Mississippi secondary teacher license.

The program combines practical business knowledge with sport-specific training, preparing graduates for careers with athletic programs, sports organizations, schools, recreation departments, and community-based sports initiatives. Students will develop expertise in leadership, communication, facility and event management, sport marketing, governance, and ethical decision-making.

Designed for working adults and other nontraditional students, the flexible online format allows learners to pursue their degree while balancing professional and personal commitments. Students in the Coaching concentration may also pursue a pathway toward Mississippi secondary teacher licensure through Belhaven’s alternate route program.
