Belhaven University to Showcase Local High School Artists in Fourth Annual Emerging Artist Exhibition

JACKSON, Miss. (September 16, 2026) — Belhaven University will celebrate the creativity and talent of local high school students during its fourth annual Emerging Artist Exhibition, on display September 26 through October 21 in the Bitsy Irby Gallery, located inside the Bitsy Irby Visual Art and Dance Center.

The juried exhibition will feature original works by emerging high school artists, providing them with an opportunity to display their work in a professional gallery setting. The annual event recognizes promising young artists, encourages their continued creative development, and introduces the community to a new generation of artistic voices.

A closing reception honoring the participating artists will be held Wednesday, October 21, from 10–11 a.m. in the Bitsy Irby Gallery. The exhibition and closing reception are open to the public.

Belhaven University’s Visual Art program equips students to develop their creative vision through hands-on learning, individualized faculty mentorship, professional opportunities, and a biblical worldview. Students may pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, or a minor in visual art or art history while preparing for careers as artists, designers, photographers, educators, and other creative professionals.
