Location Matters

Living in residence halls enhances your college experience. You find yourself in the middle of campus activities and close to your classes.

It can be less expensive, too. Students who live on campus are more likely to graduate on time. They report higher satisfaction with their college experience. Living here will be your haven.

Some Students Must Live on Campus

If you have earned fewer than 54 credit hours, are single and under the age of 21, you must live on campus.

If you live nearby with a parent or legal guardian, in their permanent home, you may request an exception.

A professional Resident Director (RD) lives in each hall to manage an environment that integrates learning and Belhaven’s values. Resident Assistants (RAs) are student leaders who live with the students and assist the RD in maintaining an environment in each hall that is conducive to living and learning.

All About Living On Campus

What is the Housing Application? The housing application, available from BlazeNet, is the portal where you submit your housing application (if living on campus), select your room and connect with possible roommates.

Current Students: In order to access the Housing Application, current students must be in good standing with Belhaven University and must not have any financial or conduct holds.

First-time Incoming Students: We are excited to welcome you to live on campus! Before you can access the Housing Application, you must pay your enrollment deposit.

What is the Housing Deposit? All students planning to live on campus must pay the $150 residential housing deposit before they can access Room Selection and secure their spot. This is not an additional fee, rather deposit will be applied to your residence life charges. Please note that financial aid cannot be used to pay the housing deposit.

Where do I pay the housing deposit? The housing deposit can be paid in the payment portal through BlazeNet by following these instructions.

  1. Login to Blazenet.
  2. Locate the Balance Info widget on the dashboard and click the "Make a Payment" button OR dropdown the "Financial Info" menu and select "Payments" to be transferred to the payment site.
  3. Either on the "Overview" or "Make a Payment" page, scroll down to the "Available Items" section and click on "Housing Deposit" and then "Add to Payment."
  4. Proceed to "Checkout" and select your payment method. Credit card payments will incur an additional service fee. Bank account ACH payments will be charged a flat $0.50 fee. Input your payment information and click "Continue." Then, on the last screen, review the charge and payment information and provide an email address to which a receipt will be sent.
  5. Click the "Pay" button to submit payment.

Housing Application Opens March 1.

Starting March 1, you can log in and complete the housing application with your personal and housing information. Completing the application makes you eligible to participate in room selection.

Important: Even if your application shows as “Complete,” you must return to the Housing Portal to select your room. Rooms are not automatically assigned, and if you do not select a room during your selection period you may have limited options.

Current Residential Student Selection: Current residential students who have paid their housing deposit can re-select their current room or choose a different available room during this period. Assigned selection dates and instructions will be sent to your student email. If you miss your assigned time, you will need to wait until April 1 to select a room.

  • Reserving Same Room: Mon, March 24 – Tues, March 25, 12 AM – 11:59 PM CST
  • Current Seniors and Juniors (54+ credit hours): Wed, March 25, 12 AM -11:59 PM CST
  • Current Sophomores (24-53 credit hours): Thurs, March 26, 12 AM -11:59 PM CST
  • Current Freshmen (less than 24 hours): Fri, March 27, 12 AM - 11:59 PM CST

Priority Selection for New & Incoming Students: If you paid your enrollment deposit by January 31, 2026, and paid your housing deposit before room selection opens, you can select your room early on March 30. If you miss this date, you will need to wait until April 1.

  • The Room Selection Page will open for new students who paid the Early Enrollment Deposit at 12 AM CST on March 30, 2026.

General Room Selection: Starting April 1, room selection opens for all students — current, returning, and incoming who have paid their housing deposit. Students will complete their application and select their room in the same process.

  • General Room Selection Opens at 12 AM CST on April 1, 2026.

Residence Hall Staff

All of our residence halls are staffed by a professional Resident Director (RD) and a team of student leaders who serve as Resident Assistants (RAs). Together, they are committed to helping our residential students adjust to life at college while growing academically, spiritually, and socially. RAs are some of the first people you'll meet when arriving at Belhaven as a new student and they are eager to help you get oriented to your new Belhaven home.
