October 29, 2014 (Jackson) -Arts Discover Day on November 14 will give future students a sneak peek into Belhaven University's thriving School of the Arts. This day is an important step for students deciding on a career in the arts and helps them discover what type of degree they might want to pursue. Students can learn more about Belhaven's Dance, Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Graphic Design, Theatre, Marching Band and Music programs.
Participants will be able talk with Belhaven professors who love the arts and can give can advice and information about a chosen art profession. Visiting students will get to take a tour through each department and see why Belhaven's modern art facilities make it a premier art university in Mississippi. Students will also get to enjoy workshops, classes, meals, campus tours, performances, personal interaction with faculty, interaction with student panel and the opportunity to meet others with a passion for the arts.
Students can have their portfolios reviewed, learn more about financial aid, compete for scholarships, and audition. Auditions will be happening throughout the day. Auditions for dance will be held on a separate day. Visit Belhaven Dance Auditions for more information.
