Belhaven University Named to Money's 2026 Best Colleges List for Affordability and Student Success

JACKSON, Miss. (July 20, 2026) — Money has once again named Belhaven University to its Best Colleges list, recognizing the University for its exceptional combination of affordability, educational quality, and student success.

Each year, Money evaluates hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide, measuring institutions on educational quality, affordability, and alumni outcomes. Belhaven remains one of only two private universities in Mississippi to earn this distinction.

"We are honored to once again be recognized by Money as one of America's Best Colleges," said Suzanne Sullivan, vice president for enrollment and marketing. "This recognition reflects Belhaven's unwavering commitment to providing students with a high-quality, Christ-centered education while ensuring that cost is never a barrier to opportunity."

Belhaven continues to offer one of the most affordable tuition rates among private universities in the region, complemented by generous scholarships, grants, and work-study opportunities. The University works closely with students and families to maximize financial aid, minimize student debt, and provide personalized financial counseling throughout the college experience.

"With tuition below the national average for private institutions and substantial scholarship opportunities, Belhaven graduates are equipped not only for meaningful careers but also for long-term financial success," Sullivan added.

Belhaven's commitment to affordability is further demonstrated through two signature initiatives that provide exceptional value for students. The Belhaven Advantage allows eligible traditional program graduates who complete at least 60 credit hours at the University to earn an eligible online master's degree tuition-free—a benefit valued at up to $25,000.

In addition, the Double Major Fifth Year Free Promise enables eligible first-time on campus freshmen pursuing a second major to complete a fifth year of undergraduate study without paying tuition, representing an additional value of up to $29,000. Combined, these programs can provide students with as much as $54,000 in added educational value.

With a nearly 150-year history of academic excellence, Belhaven University continues to invest in programs that expand access, reduce student debt, and prepare graduates for lives of purpose, leadership, and service. Its continued recognition by Money underscores the University's commitment to delivering one of the nation's best values in higher education.
