Notice to Current Students - Sunday, March 8, 2026
As many of you may already know, on Friday morning we made the decision to temporarily suspend access to several university systems after identifying a cybersecurity incident.
We immediately took impacted systems offline and engaged internationally recognized cybersecurity specialists to help investigate the issue and guide the recovery process. Law enforcement and our cybersecurity insurance carrier are also working alongside our team.
At present, several systems students normally use are unavailable, including Canvas and BlazeNet.
Our team is working carefully and steadily to restore these systems as quickly and safely as possible.
- For students who currently have assignments or coursework that require access to Canvas or other systems, please know that faculty are aware of the situation and will work with you to provide appropriate flexibility while systems are being restored. No student will be disadvantaged academically because of this disruption.
- Many of our traditional undergraduate students are entering spring break this week, which will help minimize the academic impact while we restore access.
Situations like this have unfortunately become common across universities and businesses today, but I am encouraged by the professionalism of our team and the guidance of experts assisting us.
As a community that seeks to think biblically about every circumstance, we are also reminded that the Lord goes before us into complex challenges. What could have been far more damaging has, by God’s grace, been contained, and the path forward is becoming clearer.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this together.
